Reviews

I had my 2nd free Chinese today with That's Mandarin. I have tested other Chinese classes but like the structure of this one. They put you in small groups so you can speak with other people as well as the teacher. They also give you full access to their teaching platform website where you can review what you learned, and even learn new concepts at your own pace.

I was invited by a friend to enjoy 2-hour long FREE ONLINE Chinese language classes during 2 weeks! Being long time without classes, I found myself missing Chinese language learning... 😖 Thanks to That's Mandarin for this opportunity!

If you're living in Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen you can have 2 weeks worth of lessons for free at ANY level! The lessons are in small groups and don't use standard textbooks, focusing on everyday language, so it's really efficient to learn 👍🏼
Frequently Asked Questions
Get your questions answered
What is the course schedule?
There are two options for the group schedule:
Wednesday classes in the morning (10:00-11:50 am with a 10-min break in between) or Wednesday classes in the evening (7:00-8:50 pm with a 10-min break in between).
What are your teachers like? Are they native speakers?
Before they join us, they have to obtain a Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL, or TCSOL) certificate, and successfully complete That’s Mandarin’s mandatory Teachers Training Course (TTC).
What teaching materials do you use?
We use our own in-house learning platform NihaoCafe for both online and offline Chinese classes. On this platform, you’ll be able to access your learning materials, connect with your teachers, review your lessons, and schedule your classes.
For HSK 1-3, the standard course is built around a TV series we filmed featuring 64 episodes, and the story set in modern China with over 70 characters in 45 locations. Students can watch the videos, read interactive dialogues, learn new words & grammar, and practice with exercises on the platform.
For HSK 4, more advanced learners can read articles on various topics – Chinese culture, modern China, China’s economy & job market, dialogues from daily life, and many more. This level has the same set of interactive exercises as the previous levels.
Will the classes be taught in English?
As your Chinese level progresses, less and less English will be used in your classes and you will be able to understand more and more Chinese every day.
Will I be able to improve my Chinese with only 2 days of classes a week?
